Toketee Falls and Crater Lake are two of the most beautiful natural attractions Oregon has to offer. From the moment you enter the state park, heading towards the trail head for Toketee Falls, you will stumble upon the mystical ambiance provided by the Oregon National Forest. However I will warn you, cell phone coverage is scarce while driving through the national forest near Crater Lake and Toketee Falls.
Main Attractions
Toketee Falls
Toketee Falls is tucked away in a beautiful forest with a trail of stone staircases and rushing crystal blue water. Walking through the moss covered forest, I am subconsciously waiting to see Hansel and Gretel skipping around the corner.
Crater Lake
Crater Lake National Park is at the top of a 9 mile highway to the trailhead, accessible by an 24ft wide 2 lane highway. Some of the scenic views, like Crater Like Rim Scenic Drive to Garfield Peak, is a difficult 2mile, ONE WAY road with widths as small as 12ft. Not the best idea if you are a rookie driving an 8.5ft wide 23ft long RV. Unfortunately, access to the trail head for Crater lake was closed due to COVID-19 closures. However, the COVID-19 closure may be a blessing in disguise, as the scenic roads are not recommended for larger vehicles, campers and trucks.
Consequently, due to COVID 19 travel restrictions, Crater Lake National Park was not open to the public when we were in route traveling through western Oregon. However, the beauty that is promised at Crater Lake keeps this attraction on my bucket list.
Toketee Falls and Crater Lake are two of America’s best natural attractions. I would recommend adding both to your travel bucket list and begin planning your next trip!

Accommodations
We stayed one night at Waterwheel RV Park, in Chiloquin, OR. This campground was clean and quiet with level campsites. They took precaution to COVID-19 safety regulations for residents. Very friendly staff who offered to upgrade my reservation to the site with the best river view, site #3 for $42/night with full hookup.
There is a very nice fishing pier and tent site area that allowed for Brody to get the zoomies out and stretch his legs after a long drive!
